Getting Ready For An Interview

The interview process can be the most daunting part of the job search, but it doesn’t have to be! Here are all the things you should know and prepare before going into an interview.

  • Research the company.
    • When we interviewed candidates the first question we would ask is “What do you know about us?” Or, “Tell me a couple of things you know about us.” To stand out make sure you have done your proper research on the company.
  • Research your interviewer.
    • People hire people they like. Your GOAL is to move the interview into a conversation, and build relationship with the interviewer.
  • Prepare a set of questions.
    • The last thing I would ask when completing the interview was “Do you have any questions for me?” If they did not have good questions for me, they were eliminated.
  • Conduct a mock interview.
    • Here are 10 common interview questions you should have answers prepared for.
      • Tell me about yourself
      • What interests you about this job opening?
      • What do you know about our company?
      • Why are you no longer at your last job?
      • Why should we hire you for this job?
      • What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
      • What is your greatest achievement?
      • Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
      • What salary range are you looking for?
      • What questions do you have for me?
  • Print out physical copies of your resume.
  • Clean and press your clothes.
  • Dress for the role.
